FAQS

FAQS: Ayuda

Do I have to know Spanish before taking Spanish classes?

No, you don't. One of the objectives of our classes is that you will be able to communicate in Spanish from the first day. That is the reason why our Spanish teachers always use Spanish as a language as a constant vehicle of communication.

How can I know my Spanish level?

Before taking Spanish classes with us, we conduct a short interview where we can determine your level of Spanish. We will also get to know your interest in learning the language and clarify possible questions you may have before starting classes.

What methodology do you use to teach Spanish?

Our comprehensive method, as well as the personal attention and supervision of each of our students, results in practical Spanish learning.

We know that there is no perfect way to learn Spanish because everyone is different. That is why in our Spanish classes we design our own academic materials.

This allows us to provide each student with exactly the content they need such as grammar, conversation, Mexican slang, culture, specialized Spanish, history, etc.

Are individual classes better than group classes?

What extra activities do you offer to practice Spanish?

We have some cultural activities to practice Spanish in a real environment with local people. They are also an option to get to know more about the city streets and social life.

Walks through the streets of our charming city, excursions through the mountains and forests; visit some interesting places in the city, participate in some events like discussion circles, alebrijes, traditional Mexican food, etc.

How long should I study Spanish?

Our individual Spanish classes are the most popular way for our students.

Individual Spanish classes offer an excellent learning experience. Some students take their time to learn. Other students prefer more grammar than conversation and, of course, there are those students who by profession want to learn technical or specific vocabulary.

The group classes are excellent if you want to live with other students. But it is important to consider that the students have the same level of Spanish in each group.

Since students do not learn the same, the number of hours may vary. Some of the factors students consider are:

  • Age and motivation.

  • Previous Spanish language and cultural knowledge.

  • Amount of time practicing Spanish outside of class.

Our teachers and academic staff will always be available to give you advice on how to get the most out of your study.

Do the courses qualify as credits?

Is it safe to travel to Guanajuato?

Academic credit and grading is done with the schools and universities on the basis of specific academic units.

We suggest that every three weeks of study be assigned four to five semester units, to be determined by the language classes and mini-courses the student attends. Students should discuss their request for transfer credit in advance with their professor at their home campus. Students may choose to be graded on a scale of A, B, C, D, F, or APPROVED/NOT APPROVED.

Each teacher has a daily evaluation of each student's performance and the material used in class. At the end of each week, an evaluation of their progress is recorded. A final exam may be given if required by the student or the school. A written summary of course work and individual achievements will be provided for any student applying for college credit.
